Unfortunately another season of instructing up here on the Ottawa River is slowly coming to an end. This has been an amazing summer teaching with Liquid Skills with the return of good friends and new faces alike. To celebrate, the Liquid Skills staff (With a few exceptions - we missed you Ryan and Runt) went on a trip up to Quebec’s Mattawin River, just south of La Tuque. The Mattawin, a river featured in Liquid Skills OVE - Ottawa Valley Experiences trip, has all the makings of a classic. It’s a multi-day trip set within a beautiful Quebec wilderness filled with smooth slides, ledge drops, continuous class III and a big waterfall near the takeout to finish it off. Potentially the best part about the trip is that for a reasonable price you can have all your gear driven into camp after day one and have an amazing dinner cooked for you over the open fire. All in all it was an amazing trip filled with tons of on and off water excitement shared among good friends.
