Freestyle kayaking in the past couple years has taken leaps and bounds. Its always been advancing but recently its seems everyone is going huge, and the guys that brought you huge, are still going hugeX10, only now there doing it on new Bigger, Faster waves. Throwing one big sweet trick is no longer the shit, now you’ve got massive combo moves and super clean every things.

So with all the sick new waves, mega moves and a mass of hungry groms ready to step up ... how does a play boater set them self apart, give them self the edge?
If you ask Dave Nieuwenhuis ... its simple. Buy a bunch of carbon weave, some resin, and find a Ukrainian dude to help you build your own Carbon Boat so that you can be faster and pop’ier on the wave. “Its the way forward”.

Dave had been planing on building his own boat for years, and while in Sudbury (Dave’s new home town) he got that chance. He will admit, it was a hard, long and expensive task but the final product speaks for it self, WOW!!

Now, building your own boat probably isn’t possible for most people, and thats okay, Wave Sport has stepped up and designed the ultimate in Carbon ... the Project 54!! check it out at www.WaveSport.com

If you have questions about Dave’s boat, I am sure he’d be stoked to talk to you about his baby. Well as they say “The proof is in the pudding” ... we don’t have any pudding, but we do have lots of sick photos of Dave killing it at the Ruin Wave in his new Boat.
