LU 6. Costa Rica '07

COSTA RICA - Nov

Well, I´m in Costa Rica at the mo, boating in the Turrialba region. The
water has been high so we´re getting to paddle some sweet G4-5 rivers,
even got lucky enough to paddle a section called Peralta Dries on the
Reventason river which only runs a few times a year. We were planning
on heading to Panama about now but the word is that they don´t have
much water left so we´re staying in Costa Rica for now. All good
though, there´s a tonne of good stuff to paddle here. I´m in
Turrialba for a couple more days then headed to the ´General´ river
for a 5 day multi-day trip down one of the country´s biggest rivers.
Probably check out La Virgen area after that, as the rivers look
pretty sweet that way.

COSTA RICA - Dec

Good times in Costa Rica so far, it´s absolutely beautiful here! We´ve pretty much paddled everything in the Turrialba region now. In the last week we´ve paddled a creek run down the upper upper & upper sections of the Rio Pacuare, done a 3-day trip down the Rio Buena Vista & Rio General and yesterday we went to La Virgen area and paddled the Rio Sirapaqui and spent some time at Pozo Azul, a beautiful clean 30ft waterfall. In a couple of days we´re actually meeting up with Matt Johnson and running the Headwaters of the Rio Pacuare. Should be pretty fun, we have to drive into the mountains and rent horses off the local indians for the hike to the put in.
Time is flying by, we´ve heard about some good creeks that are in at the moment so we´ll probably be looking into those and then a bit of surfing before I head home for xmas.
I´m super excited to see the mini-mystic that Bliss-Stick has just released, I love paddling the mystic but one that is more my size will be super sweet!!! :)
