Well, Garberator has been in for a while now so that has been occupying a fair bit of my time as well as a lot of Instructing and safety boating work. I have even had a few sessions in the Specialist and really liked it! Last week I headed to Lachine and got some more time on Big Joe which was awesome as always. I also did a trip into Quebec to Paddle the 7 sisters section of the Rouge river. Basically it's a short section of 6 (don't ask me why there aren't seven) waterfalls which are all really nice.
We also headed to New York to paddle the Raquette River which only releases a few times over summer. But to our dismay there was no release, the American Whitewater website gave the wrong date. Pretty gutting but we walked the river bed which was pretty interesting and it looked like it would be a pretty nice creek to run so hopefully I get to go back some day.
So things will be starting to wind down around here soon, but should be good times as the water levels come back up and there'll be more rivers to paddle. Hoping to do a trip to Quebec to do some creeking as well as going to the Gauley Festival in West Virginia and the Moose Festival in New York. Meantime, I'm about to head to the Mattawin River in Quebec for two day trip down the river which should be good times!!!
