So I’ve been back in the Ottawa Valley for a week and walked straight into a five day bender. From ‘Sexy Classy Poker’ to Dodgeball and Lakeside it was a crazy welcome back and my body is just starting to adjust and recover now. It’s nice to be back on the Ottawa river and it’s been sitting around 11-12 on the gauge which means high water and fun runs down the river with enormous waves to plough through. Unfortunately I missed out on surfing buseater wave by about a week but it has been raining for the last few days and the river level has been creeping up. Just need about another foot for Bussy to come back in so I’m pleading with the rain gods for a downpour up north!! High Tension wave on the Gatineau also just needs a little more water to come in so we’re standing by on wave watch. I’ve been and checked out some other runs in the area which are pretty fun in high water and otherwise I’m trying to stop the spread of Poison Ivy that has plagued me. I forgot I had left the safety of NZ and hit up prime Canadian poison Ivy season. I guess all it takes is a little butt tickle from a leaf while taking an innocent riverside squat to start the attack. The spread is slowly taking over my body, starting on the butt cheeks,working it’s way to my arms and even a slight hit to the face…doh!!! Too much information I know but I just wanted to create a little poison Ivy Squatting awareness. So yeah a little quiet at the mo. Heading to the Upper Petawawa river next week and may be heading to the Gull River Festival next weekend. Keep it real LU BE CAREFUL WHERE YOU SQUAT….
